Alan and I met through one of my bridesmaids only a few years ago. It’s surprising that we didn’t meet earlier given we went to the same university and had a ton of mutual friends.  Our relationship progressed so naturally and effortlessly that we knew from early on that we had found the one.

We got engaged the day before our anniversary, at our newly built home. Alan then surprised me with a trip to the Lake House after the proposal. It was also where he took me on our one month anniversary (how spoilt!). Daylesford has therefore always been a special place for us. It was really a no brainer that we chose Sault as our venue. The restaurant is one of our favourites and the lavender field, lake and surrounds made it the perfect setting for our big day.

We never really sat down and planned the wedding, but we knew we wanted our closest friends and family to experience Daylesford the way we did.

Booking the weekend houses for the bridesmaids and groomsmen was one of the best decisions! It helped us relax and spend some quality time with the bridal party before the big day. Alan and I actually stumbled upon Lakeleigh while going for a walk during one of our earlier visits to Dayelsford! The house was perfect for the girls; it had the most amazing views, not to mention the beautiful décor! The wedding day included the traditional tea ceremony with games at Lakeleigh, our first look at Lake Daylesford followed by the official ceremony and reception at Sault.

I love my DIY, so with the help of my wonderful family and friends we managed to squeeze in lots of personal touches. My amazing mum (with a little help from me) handmade all the sugar bouquet and orchids for table decorations. The cake was even baked by my Patisserie Chef father in law, whilst my mum and I teamed up to decorate it before the wedding.

We are extremely happy and fortunate to have had such a wonderful wedding day. It was amazing to share one of our most precious moments with the people who are near and dear to us and there is absolutely nothing we would have changed!
