When I was growing up we lived in the rainforest on the side of a hill in Far North Queensland. Our backyard was green! I distinctly remember a Siamese cat wondering out of the forest and into our home. This cat was a stray. We let Dara stay with us as long as she wanted to. It was really bizarre because 7 years to the day, I saw Dara walk into the rainforest and we never saw her again. It turns out a few years later one of my mums work colleague had a Siamese cat turn up on their doorstep! We wondered if that was Dara?
So Matt and Jo-anne got married a few months back and their cat, a beautiful grey British Short Hair is also a stray. It bought back instant memories of Dara. O.k enough about cats.
Matt and Joanne got married at Fitzroy garden’s in Melbourne. To be exact the location was “The Boy on the Turtle” know one really knows where the “The Boy on the Turtle” is until you head to the gardens. This is exactly why I do scouting before the wedding day. When you google “The Boy on the Turtle” it goes on to tell you that the sculpture was stolen from the gardens in 1977 and then later found abandoned in a carpark in Richmond! It was also noted how great the feat was considering the sculpture is made of bronze! But when you go to the gardens and ask park goers, do you know where the Boy on the Turtle is, they go “Boy on the Turtle”? with that perplexed tone. I remember the celebrant almost having a coronary on the day of Matt and Jo’s wedding when she first arrived sweating profusely saying, “no body knows where the Boy on the Turtle is”. I said to her, “I feel your pain, I came the other day and it took me almost an hour to find it” Well if I ever have another wedding at the “Boy on the Turtle” I know where to go.
Matt and Jo’s wedding just flew by, they designed and planned the whole event themselves. I mention it before in previous preview posts that Jo’s dress is absolutely gorgeous. Yes ladies, it’s by Marchesa.
And on a final note, Matt has always wanted to get a shot of himself watching t.v in the street. Cross that one of the list. It’s funny you know because I was having a chat the other day with a client and they mention that whenever you see a t.v on the footpath, it always happens to be this type!
